Rock Hill man accused of using steak knife to threaten woman

ROCK HILL A Rock Hill man was arrested Wednesday after police say he pulled a steak knife from his pants and threatened a woman on State Street near Green Street.

Charles Hemphill, 56, is charged with disorderly conduct, offering violence, according to a Rock Hill Police report.

A woman said a group of people were in a yard talking when Hemphill got upset and began cursing at her. He pulled his knife out and said he would cut her, the report states.

Witnesses confirmed the victim's story.

When questioned by police, Hemphill pulled the steak knife out of his waist band. He was arrested and the steak knife was placed into evidence.
