Weekend temperatures comfortable for this time of year

Temperatures over the weekend are expected to remain relatively mild in the Charlotte region for this time of the summer, sticking to highs in the low to mid-80s and overnight lows in the high 60s.

The UV and pollen indexes will remain in the low range, while the air quality index will be moderate.

The Charlotte region faces only a slight chance for showers Friday morning and afternoon.

The chance for precipitation increases to 30 percent Friday night through Sunday afternoon, and to 40 percent Sunday night through Monday night, according to the latest National Weather Service forecasts.

The next chance for thunderstorms is Sunday night.
