10 hurt in west Charlotte crash

Ten people were injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in west Charlotte, authorities said.

The number of victims was large enough for Medic to call out its Mass Casualty Bus.

The crash was reported about 5:20 p.m. on Freedom Drive near Alleghany Street. According to reports, it involved two vans.

Medic said the 10 victims were taken to Carolinas Medical Center. All of them had injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Police were still investigating the wreck Saturday night.
