Today’s traffic: 4 hurt in Charlotte car-bus collision

Four people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a car rear-ended a CATS bus Wednesday morning in south Charlotte.

The wreck was reported about 7:40 a.m. on South Tryon Street and Nations Ford Road. Medic said two patients were being taken to Novant Presbyterian with minor injuries. The two other patients were taken to Carolinas Medical Center.

Traffic was snarled in the area for about an hour, but no congestion-related problems are being reported on South Tryon Street at 10:10 a.m.

But there are problems elsewhere in the area:

North

East W.T. Harris Boulevard at Chancellor Park Drive ... Collision; moderate delays.

East

Albemarle Road inbound ... Disabled vehicle near Harrisburg Road; minor delays.

Southeast

I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 30-40 mph from Providence Road to I-77.

Johnston Road ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph in both directions between the state line and I-485.

Sharon Amity Road at Providence Road ... Collision; minor to moderate delays.

South

I-77 southbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion caused by an earlier collision near the Tyvola Road exit; moderate delays.
