ROCK HILL A Cherokee County man left a Rock Hill strip club with a black and swollen eye after police say an exotic dancer accused him of stealing her wallet and $180 cash after a private dance Tuesday night.
Police at about 10:30 p.m. were dispatched to the Crazy Horse Showclub on South Cherry Road, where an employee explained that a customer, 27, allegedly took an exotic dancer’s wallet after a private dance in the VIP room, according to a Rock Hill police report. Once the dance was over, the dancer, 20, went to the bar to turn in money, but left her wallet and iPhone at the VIP booth.
The customer, from Blacksburg, left the bar and headed to the parking lot, the report states. When the dancer returned to the booth, she realized her wallet was missing and began screaming. The customer denied taking the wallet. The dancer’s phone began to rang from “behind” the customer after another employee called it. The employee demanded the phone back.
The customer complied, the report states, but “squared up” against the employee, who told police he feared for his safety and hit the customer several times in the face. The customer suffered from a black and swollen left eye, but he refused medical attention. He again denied taking the wallet and claimed the employee assaulted him for no reason. Police watched video from the club, which showed the customer putting the dancer’s wallet “in the small of his back” and then leave. There was no video of the assault.
The dancer didn’t press charges because she was able to get her money back, the report states. The customer eventually admitted to taking the wallet and left after calling for a ride home. No charges were filed against the employee who hit the customer because police said he was acting in self-defense.
