ROCK HILL Police say a man suffered non-life threatening injuries after someone shot into his room at the Rock Hill Motel, firing a bullet into his leg Saturday night.
When officers responded to the Riverview Road motel, they found shattered glass from a first-floor room and bullet holes in the window and door, according to a Rock Hill police report. The victim, Vincent Brown, suffered a gunshot wound on the back of his left thigh.
Two other people were inside the room, authorities say, but claimed they were asleep when they heard someone bang on the door. They then heard several gunshots fired into the room from outside.
After the gunfire ended, one of the witnesses called police. York County Sheriff's deputies told police that two other witnesses might be involved in a separate incident in the county.
By Monday morning, authorities had not uncovered the identity of any suspects, said Rock Hill Police Executive Officer Mark Bollinger.
Brown was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. Police continue to investigate.
