Alison Nicole Hullett, 28, of Hickory, was convicted Monday of child abuse and larceny by employee and was sentenced to more than three years in prison.

A Hickory woman was sentenced to more than three years in prison after being convicted this week of child abuse and larceny by employee, prosecutors say.

Alison Nicole Hullett, 28, was convicted Monday on two counts of child abuse and one count of larceny, authorities said. She was sentenced to between 40 and 72 months in prison.

Prosecutors said the child abuse charges stem from incidents in February 2013 in Hickory. They accused Hullett of failing to seek medical care for her injured children, and then making false statements to police and social services officials as to how the injuries occurred.

The larceny by employee charge dates back to June 2013 in Newton. Prosecutors accused Hullett of failing to make a $1,500 deposit for her employer.
