ROCK HILL What began as an incident of road rage resulted in a Rock Hill man’s arrest after deputies say he threw a drink on another motorist’s truck, drove through several yards as he followed the driver and was found with a suspended license and a baggy of marijuana on Saturday.

Deputies were dispatched to Holland Road at about 7:50 p.m. in reference to road rage, according to a York County Sheriff’s report. The caller, 61, told deputies that a man had been driving a car recklessly and tossed a drink on his car. A witness explained that a 2003 tan Ford Expedition, driven by Tywan Jamison, drove through several neighbors’ yards in an attempt to get away from the caller.

When they finally stopped, Jamison, 26, traded places with his female passenger, the report states. The caller told deputies that Jamison was driving very close to his bumper and eventually passed him on a double yellow line, simultaneously throwing a drink at his car. Jamison claimed the motorist was driving very slowly so he passed him in a “passing zone.” That’s when the caller allegedly yelled a vulgar name at him. Jamison admitted to throwing the drink at the man’s truck. Jamison told deputies that both he and the motorist were driving badly.

Jamison told deputies that his license was suspended, the report states. Deputies searched Jamison and found a small baggy of marijuana in the front left pocket of his shorts. He was arrested and charged with driving under suspension and possession of marijuana. He was released from jail Sunday on a $1,272.50 bond.
