Darryl Liston Atwell, 17, of China Grove, was arrested in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins and larcenies across southern Rowan County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Two Rowan County high school students have been arrested in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins and larceny cases that allegedly took place over the past several months in the southern part of the county, authorities say.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said two 17-year-olds from China Grove, Darryl Liston Atwell and Christopher Adam Huffman, have been charged with multiple counts of felony breaking and entering and credit card theft, and several counts of misdemeanor larceny.

The sheriff’s office said detectives recovered property that had been taken in break-ins in China Grove and in unincorporated areas near China Grove, Landis and Enochville. Detectives have been contacting owners of recovered property, authorities said.

Items reported stolen include cash, wallets, medication and bank cards, according to the sheriff’s office.
