No injuries in NE Charlotte gas leak

No injuries were reported in a natural gas leak Wednesday in northeast Charlotte.

Authorities said a gas line at a business on Old Concord Road near Orr Road ruptured about 11 a.m. Charlotte fire officials said a limited number of employees were evacuated from the site.

Old Concord Road was closed for about two hours, while crews worked to stop the leak.

Fire officials said it took a crew of 23 firefighters about an hour and 45 minutes to bring the situation under control. Old Concord Road was reopened a short time later.
