Authorities in standoff after pursuing dump truck

Law enforcement officials in Mooresville are involved in a standoff with a man in a dump truck on Interstate 77 in Mooresville.

The N.C. Department of Transportation was reporting heavy congestion between exits 25 and 33 in northern Mecklenburg County and Southern Iredell.

According to WBTV, authorities were involved in a vehicle chase with a shirtless man driving the dump truck.

Television footage showed deputies and highway patrol troopers approaching the vehicle and attempting to communicate with the man. The man was reportedly armed.
