Public’s help needed in finding drug suspect

Catawba County sheriff’s investigators are asking for the public’s help in finding a man suspected of manufacturing methamphetamine in his home.

On Thursday, officers with a search warrant seized methamphetamine and precursors for manufacturing methamphetamine in the home of Joshua James Swanson, 4049 N.C. 16 South in Maiden.

Officers obtained warrants on Swanson for possession of methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine.

The investigation came eight days after Catawba County sheriff’s investigators conducted Operation Seven/Eleven, which identified 11 suspects in a meth manufacturing conspiracy.

Anyone who knows of Swanson’s whereabouts is asked to call authorities at 828-464-3112.
