Union County to hire two more assistant DAs

MONROE The Union County Board of Commissioners on Monday night approved an agreement to fund two assistant district attorney positions in the Union County District Attorney’s Office.

The county’s fiscal 2015 budget contains $137,198 for Union County’s district attorney, Trey Robison, to employ an assistant district attorney dedicated to District Court and another district attorney devoted to the prosecution of Union County Jail cases.

The hirings “will continue to improve the disposition of cases involving public safety and alleviate the pre-trial jail population at the county’s jail,” according to a statement released on Twitter Tuesday morning by the Union County Office of the Commissioners and Manager.
