5 Charlotte candidates file for judicial seats

Four Charlotte attorneys filed for the seat of retiring Superior Court Judge William Constangy.

The candidates running for Constangy’s seat are:

• Eric Montgomery, who opened his firm in 2009.

• David Kelly, a Mecklenburg assistant district attorney.

• John Bowers, a member of the firm of Horack Talley.

• Carla Archie, president of the Mecklenburg Bar.

Among the 19 candidates filing to replace retiring appellate Judge John Martin is John Arrowood of James McElroy & Diehl. He is a former appeals court member. Michael Gordon
