When the clock strikes 5 p.m. on Thursdays, a lot of young professionals uptown exit their offices and head to the rooftop of the EpiCentre for Alive After 5. (The weekly summer concert series runs through Sept. 4; www.aliveafterfives.com.) They go to unwind, socialize and listen to a band – perhaps while enjoying a refreshing beverage or two. But we were there to find those who stood out for their style. – Olivia Fortson
Summer Style Tip: He thinks a tucked-in shirt looks too stuffy, but an untucked one looks sloppy, so he’s mastered the half tuck – he likes to wear his shirts loosely tucked in.
Wearing: Maui Jim sunglasses, shirt and shorts from J. Crew, and John Varvatos shoes.
Summer Style Tip: She finds Charlotte’s weather unpredictable, so she always has a lightweight cardigan handy.
Wearing: A top from J. Crew (she wore the matching cardigan to the office), skirt and shoes from Target, and pearl earrings from her grandmother.
Summer Style Tip: He tries to wear lighter colors in the summer.
Wearing: A custom shirt made in Hong Kong, pants and suspenders from H&M, Target watch and Steve Madden shoes.
Jessica “Tinkerbell” Bell
Summer Style Tip: She loves to pair black with bright colors, especially neon colors.
Wearing: A romper and shoes from Rainbow with sunglasses from Nordstrom.
Summer Style Tip: He loves seersucker, especially for bow ties.
Wearing: A Ralph Lauren shirt with a bow tie from K&G that he untied as soon as he left his office, Steve Madden shoes from Nordstrom and an Aldo watch.
Summer Style Tip: She loves Jack Rogers sandals and skinny crop pants.
Wearing: A shirt from Loft, J. Crew skirt, Dooney & Bourke crossbody purse, pearl earrings that were a gift from her mother and Jack Rogers sandals.
Summer Style Tip: He likes to wear light, breezy clothes with a pop of color.
Wearing: Hat and shoes from Citi Trends, with a shirt and pants from Stein Mart.
Summer Style Tip: She loves dresses because they’re comfortable and easy to wear.
Wearing: A dress from Ross, shoes from Plato’s Closet, a Coach bag, a ring she bought at the Renaissance Festival, pearl jewelry she won from Mary Kay, and spiral gauged earrings.
