Babysitter sentenced for sexually abusing child

A 22-year-old Granite Falls man was sentenced to three months in jail this week after a jury found him guilty of taking indecent liberties with a child he was babysitting in 2010.

The Caldwell County Superior Court jury deliberated for at least two hours before finding Kelsey Saxton Trumble guilty of felony indecent liberties with a child.

Trumble was 18 at the time of the offense, and the child was under 12, District Attorney James Gaither Jr. said Friday.

Judge Robert Sumner ordered Trumble to register with the N.C. Sex Offender Registry for 30 years once he’s released from jail.
