Power restored in Cornelius

Power was restored shortly before 8 p.m. Friday to Cornelius homes and businesses east of Interstate 77.

Power went out at about 6:30 p.m. after a tree limb fell on power lines on Pine Street, media outlets reported.

A worker at Acropolis Cafe and Grille, which is just east of I-77 Cornelius Exit 28, said the restaurant was among the businesses that lost power.

Workers at Subway and Brooklyn South Neighborhood Pizzeria, which are west of the interstate off West Catawba Avenue, said their establishments never lost power.

Officials with power provider ElectriCities of North Carolina in Huntersville couldn’t be reached Friday night.
