You’ve set another record in giving to the Observer Summer Camp Fund, helping this community top our goal of $150,000 with a campaign total of $160,040.
That means more children than ever will get a shot at life-changing experiences next summer – experiences their families couldn’t afford without your generosity. I’m grateful to honorary fund co-chairs Sally and Russell Robinson, who chose to help because of their own cherished memories of camp, and to the Foundation For The Carolinas, whose challenge grant ensured that, together, we hit our goal.
We know summer camp’s benefits are enduring for every child. But our community’s neediest can benefit most: Camp literally widens their world. It builds confidence, rewards hard work and encourages children to dream bigger.
This summer, the number of children you have helped send to camp since 2009 passed 1,000. Congratulations on making a difference in so many lives.
