A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a fast food restaurant in north Charlotte, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.
Decarlos Sifford has been charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to police.
On Thursday, CMPD North Division officers responded to a call at a Cook-Out restaurant located at 4321 Sunset Road at 7 a.m. When they arrived, the victim told them he had been trying to open the business when he was approached by an armed suspect.
The victim got into the restaurant and locked the suspect out. The suspect then ran away.
Detectives gathered information and ultimately identified Sifford as a suspect. On Monday, police found and arrested Sifford without incident in the 1600 block of Brenard Avenue in Kannapolis.
Sifford was taken to police headquarters and interviewed by detectives. Afterward, Sifford was taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriffs Office.
