A pair of collisions on Interstate 77 near the John Belk Freeway interchange – one on the north side, the other on the south – continue to cause problems at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Both wrecks have been cleared, but slowdowns continue for about 2 miles in each direction.
Otherwise, conditions are improving across the region as the morning commute ends.
Here is the 9:40 a.m. update:
I-77 southbound, near Charlotte ... Congestion from earlier collision near John Belk Freeway and West Boulevard; traffic moving 30-40 mph in the area.
I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 35-45 mph from Providence Road to I-77.
Johnston Road ... Collision near the ramp to inner loop of I-485; moderate delays.
I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion; traffic moving 25-35 mph from Remount Road to John Belk Freeway exit.
Billy Graham Parkway ... Congestion; traffic moving 20-25 mph between West Boulevard and I-85.
