Man shot in north Charlotte robbery attempt

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for three men in connection with an overnight shooting that left a man hospitalized.

Police say the shooting apparently took place during a robbery attempt. The incident was reported about 2:30 a.m. at an apartment complex on Chelsea Jade Lane, off Mallard Creek Road just south of W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Investigators said three suspects tried to rob a man, but the victim ran away. As he was running, police said, he was struck twice by gunshots.

The victim was taken by Medic to the hospital and is expected to survive. There was no immediate description of the suspects.
