Mitt Romney: Barack Obama worse than even I expected

Former Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney blasted President Barack Obama this week, telling a Washington newspaper that the president is doing "a good deal worse than even I expected."

"I was not a big fan of the president's policies, as you know, either domestically or internationally," Romney told The Washington Times. "But the results of his mistakes and errors, in my opinion, have been more severe than even I would have predicted."

The comments came after a campaign stop Romney made in West Virginia on behalf of three Republicans running for Congress. The former Massachusetts governor also was in Charlotte on Tuesday for a fundraiser for Thom Tillis, the N.C. House Speaker who is running for the U.S. Senate.
