Olympic High School holding fundraiser for All-Star Teacher Initiative

Olympic High is sponsoring a barbecue dinner at 5 p.m. before the school’s opening football game Friday evening, with money raised going to its fledgling All-Star Teacher Initiative.

The project is modeled after a program at East Mecklenburg High that provides teachers with stipends for school supplies and other support. A 1973 graduate of Olympic High, Bruce Dye of Fort Wayne, Ind., has already pledged up to $250,000 to start the initiative.

Tickets for the barbecue dinner are $50. Reservations are required. Call at 980-343-3800, ext. 4006211, or email OHSFoundation@cms.k12.nc.us for more information.
