100 dead fish found in Charlotte creek after sewage spill

A hundred dead fish were found after a blockage of grease caused an estimated 15,000 gallons of sewage to spill into Briar Creek on Wednesday, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Utility Department reported. The spill happened in the 500 block of Briar Creek Road. Water Quality staff found the spill, and crews cleared the pipe. The department maintains 4,189 miles of wastewater pipe. Joe Marusak
