Three people have been arrested in connection with a trio of Craigslist robberies, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Tuesday.

Authorities charged Chris Daquan Bennett, 16, Deonte Stitt, 19, and Tadarian Lindsey, 21, with alleged robberies that took place between Aug. 17 and last Thursday.

In the separate incidents, the victims said they responded to online Craigslist ads to buy a cellphone but were instead physically assaulted and robbed, police said.

Authorities urged caution when using the Internet to buy or sell personal property.

• Always meet the buyer or seller in a public place where there are plenty of people and take someone with you.

• Never agree to meet on a side street or a place that is not well lit. Adam Bell
