A man is dead, and a 17-year-old is being questioned by homicide detectives tonight after a fight at a west Charlotte house ended in a stabbing.
The stabbing was reported about 5:30 p.m. at a home on Royston Road, near Ashley Road and Freedom Drive, police said.
A woman called 911 and told dispatchers that her daughter had gotten into a fight with a man who had been living at the home.
Police said the fight got physical, and the girl stabbed the man. Police haven't released the name of the dead man or the teenager they are questioning, and officers haven't said whether any of the people involved were related. Officers said the stabbing wasn't a random act.
Anyone with information should call 704 704-432-TIPS to speak directly with a homicide detective or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Tipsters are eligible for rewards up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
