Charter school soccer win
On Aug. 28 Lake Norman Charter Middle School had its first soccer game of the season at Lincoln Charter School in Denver.
Dark clouds loomed as the teams dribbled, raced, kicked, blocked and fought for position. The Knights kicked one into the goal.
With nine minutes left in the first half, lightning halted play. A sprinkle became a downpour. But the storm rolled out, and 30 minutes after the first drop of rain, the game resumed.
Because of the delay, both teams agreed a winner would be declared at the end of the first half. Neither team scored, and the Knights won 1-0.
Congratulations!
Remembering TT
Aug. 29 was a sad day for our family. Our little Maltese dog, TT, succumbed to congestive heart failure. She was just 10 years young. Dr. Mark McGeough, owner of Birkdale Animal Hospital, took great care of TT when she was well and also when it was time to give her body peace and rest.
When we lose our pets, we feel deep and painful loss, because they become cherished members of our families. They give unconditional love and abundant joy to our lives.
My husband and son created TT's Garden as a memorial to her. We mourn and grieve the loss of TT and will for some time. She will live in our hearts forever.
