A $1.1 million grant of federal stimulus money will help Mecklenburg County Park and Rrecreation build a 1.2-mile section of a greenway in Davidson.
The money will be used to build the West Branch Rocky River Greenway, in the River Run community. Work is expected to begin next year.
The greenway will extend along a branch of the East Rocky River, from River Ford Drive to Shearer Drive. The path would connect River Run with a new neighb orhood, River Run Phase 5. Plans call for paved trails and boardwalks where needed.
