This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Victorian Holiday Teas, hosted by the Matthews Woman's Club Service League, which many in the area say marks the start of their holiday season.
Tickets go on sale Thursday.
The teas are held in early December at the historic 1890 Reid House, where the halls will be decked in true Victorian fashion.
Guests will enjoy hot tea and sweet and savory treats served on fine china. (A unique "decadent chocolate sweet" is being created especially for the 20th anniversary.)
Victorian carolers, a harpist, a historic re-enactor and a Reid House historian will be on hand to help entertain and inform.
The carriage house out back will be home to a boutique offering holiday decorations, gift ideas, candies, coffees, and copies of the service league's cookbook, including special recipes from Victorian teas over the past five years.
Proceeds from the teas are used for Service League community projects.
