Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams will host "Player With a Purpose," a celebrity dinner and fundraiser, Monday at Center Stage, 2315 N. Davidson St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The event is a benefit for the DeAngelo Williams Foundation, which supports the fight against breast cancer and for legal rights for Charlotte-area children. Ticket prices start at $60 and can be reserved by calling 615-535-3140.

North Charlotte

Turning Point Academy will host a fall festival 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 2300 W. Sugar Creek Road.

University City

A series of programs about the culture of the Catawba Indians is scheduled in November and December at Reedy Creek Nature Center, 2900 Rocky River Road.

Get information about a new ordinance that requires maintenance of commercial buildings when the Freedom Drive Development Association meets at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
