High school football Players of the Week
Each Sunday, the Observer names an overall football Player of the Week and top performers from other classifications.
OVERALL: Independence quarterback
Anthony Carrothers, who passed for four touchdowns and 389 yards in a 42-14 victory against Ardrey Kell, is The Observer Player of the Week. Carrothers also ran for a touchdown and completed 24-of-38. His scoring passes covered 8, 25, 52 and 15 yards.
3A: West Rowan's
K.P. Parks rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-0 victory against China Grove Carson.
2A:
Newton-Conover's
Joseph Bryant scored on a 16-yard reception and a 34-yard interception in a 49-21 victory against Hickory.
1A/PRIVATE:
Charlotte Latin's
Jalen Ross rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns in a 50-18 victory against Providence Day.
