Six people have been taken to Moore Regional Hospital in Carthage after a shooting at the Pinelake Health and Rehab Center.
Scot Brooks, emergency manager and deputy director of public safety with Moore County Emergency Management, said they received a call about multiple shootings at 10:03 this morning at 801 Pinehurst Ave.
Gretchen Kelly, the hospital's director of public relations, said the six people were brought into the hospital about 10:30 a.m.
Neither Kelly or Brooks would say if residents, employees or officers were among those who had been shot. However, Brooks said a person is in custody in the shooting.
Pinelake Health and Rehab opened in 1993 as a rehabilitation, nursing and Alzheimer's care unit with 90 nursing beds and 20 special care Alzheimer's beds.
Calls to the center were not answered.
