Charlotte City Council

-
Facts About the Council
The 11-member council and mayor are elected in odd-numbered years for two-year terms. They are up for election in November, so the council members listed are those in office at the time of publication.
Four members serve the city at-large and seven represent districts. The council members and mayor are all partisan positions.
The council meets on Monday nights at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center, 600 E. Fourth St.
Business meetings are on the second and fourth Mondays of every month. First Mondays are workshop meetings. Zoning meetings are on the third Monday. The council meeting schedule is reduced during the summer.
On the first and fourth Mondays of the month, the council also holds a Citizens Forum. For information, call 704-336-2241.
