Thanks for coming by our site which is growing to offer all things Charlotte, especially as the Democratic National Convention comes to the city in 2012. We’d love to hear from you about what you like, what we could add and any other feedback you could offer.

When civic leaders boasted that having the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte was a chance to showcase the great things about living and working in North Carolina, they probably didn’t have recent events in mind.

After weeks of preparations and security precautions for the arrival of several hundred thousand people in Charlotte’s uptown for the annual Food Lion Speed Street festival, the event came to a close Saturday night without any major problems reported as of press time.

At least one famous person is coming to Charlotte's convention not to politick, but to protest.
