Companies must do three things when facing crisis: Own it, be transparent and explain the plan to fix it, says one branding expert. Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf has stumbled – a lot – on attacking the crisis his bank has faced since revelations that his employees created fake accounts without customers knowing.

In a press conference, Chief Kerr Putney said while the videos show no “absolute, definitive visual evidence" that the 43-year-old black man had a gun in his hand, other evidence from the scene does prove it.
