Clash of the Carolinas helps Habitat for Humanity

Bank of America will donate $5,000 to Habitat for Humanity in the name of either UNC or USC depending on which school gets more volunteer hours worked for Habitat on Saturday August 29, 2015. About 30 volunteers were expected at any of three sites including the ReStore on Wendover Road. In addition to hours worked points toward the total can be enhanced fans of the two Carolina schools, that are also employees of the bank, stopping by to make donations to Habitat. Video by John D. Superchunk frontman mines ’80s synth-pop on solo album

Mac McCaughan of Triangle indie-rock veterans Superchunk and co-founder of Durham-based Merge Records (Arcade Fire, Mountain Goats, She & Him) has spent the better part of the last 25 years making records. But his new album “Non-Believers” marks his first under his own name. (He’s previously recorded as Portastatic.)
