Five people were injured in a wreck that clogged traffic Thursday morning on inbound Brookshire Boulevard in northwest Charlotte, authorities say.
The wreck happened about 7:45 a.m. on Brookshire Boulevard at Idaho Drive.
Both inbound lanes were blocked for a time, although one lane was reopened about 9 a.m.
Two vehicles were involved, and Medic, the county's emergency medical service, reports it has taken five people to hospitals. Two of those injured have life-threatening injuries, Medic reports. Four patients were taken to Carolinas Medical Center and one to Presbyterian Hospital.
Medic says one other person involved in the wreck declined medical treatment.
