The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles is reminding motorists of a new law that goes into effect soon, requiring all information on license tags to be visible.
The law, which takes effect Dec. 1, requires the following:
-- The state name to be showing on the bottom of the plate
-- The month and year stickers to be showing at the top of the plate
Vehicle owners can be cited for violating the law, with a $100 fine per violation. The law was passed by the General Assembly earlier this year to allow registration information to be more clearly visible to law enforcement personnel.
