Live entertainment, children's activities and an appearance by Santa Claus are part of the annual SouthPark Tree Lighting Celebration this evening.
The celebration will be from 5-9 p.m. at SouthPark's Symphony Park. There is no admission charge.
Preshow activities from 5-7 p.m. will include children's games, family entertainment and food. At 7 p.m., there will be music by the MI Express Children's Choir from Sharon Elementary School, then the arrival by Santa and the lighting of the tree.
A showing of the holiday movie "Elf" is planned at 7:30 p.m.
The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the program.
