Police issued an Amber Alert on Sunday for a two-month old girl believed to be abducted by her father from Conover, a town between Hickory and Statesville.
The girl, Catalin Hoard, is 16 inches tall and weighs 10 pounds. Police said she has black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a white cradle cap with brown spots, a pink one-piece with apples on it and white socks.
Conover police believe she was taken by Raul Ortega, 34, last seen wearing a blue Duke sweatshirt and black wind pants. He's described as Hispanic, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 150 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.
He may be driving a dark blue Toyota with NC tag number XYN9148. Police did not release the make or model of the vehicle, but said it has silver steps and large tires.
Anyone with information should call the Conover Police Department at 828-464-3112 or call 911.
