An Iredell County woman was charged with the shooting death of a 47-year-old man Thursday morning, authorities said.
Cheryl Dhonayle Davis, 41, of 134 Bostian Lake Road, Apartment 5, was being held in the Iredell County Detention Center on a charge of murdering Rodney Herron, who lived at the same address.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Herron was found at the residence with a gunshot wound and taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital where he died a short time later.
Additional details of the shooting were not available.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m at a residence at 134 Bostian Lake Road. The victim was taken to Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Authorities said names of those involved along with details of the shooting were not available.
