A woman trying to cross at the intersection of South McDowell and Fourth streets in Charlotte Wednesday night was struck by a vehicle, police said.
The victim, whose name was not availalble, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Police said a vehicle was traveling on South McDowell Street when it struck the woman who was crossing at the intersection.
