A woman suffered life-threatening injuries when a vehicle struck her as she was crossing at South McDowell and Fourth streets at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
The victim, whose name wasn't available, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. Police said the vehicle was traveling on South McDowell when it struck the woman.
