It's back to school today for thousands of students in York and Chesterfield counties – plus some Lancaster County students.
The 2008-09 academic year begins this morning for all York County systems – Clover, Fort Mill, Rock Hill and York. The Chesterfield County Schools also open, and the Lancaster County Schools will welcome sixth and ninth-graders. Remaining Lancaster County students begin classes Thursday.
Motorists across Chesterfield, Lancaster and York counties are reminded to be careful while driving in school zones and at bus stops.
The Chester County Schools opened earlier this week.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and most other N.C. systems begin classes Monday.
