Company to open Hickory plant

By Hannah Mitchell
Staff Writer

Connecticut-based Turbotec Products plans to open a plant in Hickory in January and hire 25 people.

The maker of heat exchangers and heat transfer tubing will locate a fabrication division in an existing building in CrossPoint Business Park on 25th Street S.E.

Turbotec's products are used in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. Company president Sunil Raina said in a press release that the new plant will help Turbotec better serve its customers, particularly in the South. He said the relatively low cost of doing business also drew the company to Hickory.
