Lincoln County authorities said today they are looking for a man in connection with a smash-and-grab break-in at the Denver Cornerstone Convenience Store on N.C. 16 in Denver last Sunday.
According to a Sheriff's Office news release, a man drove up to the business about 4:40 a.m. in what appeared to be a white rollback or vehicle carrier and broke out a front window in the store.
The suspect entered the store and fled with a large amount of cigarettes and cash, authorities said.
The burglar alarm was activated and sent a signal to the alarm company monitoring service. The Communications Center was alerted and dispatched officers to the store but by the time they arrived the suspect was gone, authorities said.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Sheriff's Office detective division at 704-736-8856 or Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909.
