Kannapolis
“The Oprah Winfrey Show” will feature the North Carolina Research Campus Tuesday, the second time a Kannapolis business will have been featured on national television within a week.
The Gem Theatre, which has been showing free movies on “Recession Wednesday” nights since February, was profiled Thursday on “NBC Nightly News.”
Don Halcombe, spokesman for Winfrey's show, said the research campus would be mentioned in a feature about aging. The show conducted interviews earlier this month with doctors on campus.
The show will discuss new technologies and lifestyle options that may extend people's lives well past 100 years. It will air at 4p.m. on ABC.
