RALEIGH — An attorney representing former first lady Mary Easley has scheduled a news conference to discuss her job at North Carolina State University.
Attorney Marvin Schiller said late Wednesday that it is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at his office in west Raleigh.
Schiller would not comment on what news might come from it.
Easley and her husband, former Gov. Mike Easley, have come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks. Mike Easley left the governor's office in January after completing two four-year terms. He faces an inquiry into his use of private aircraft before and during his time as governor.
According to subpoenas, U.S. Attorney George Holding is investigating the Easleys.
