HUNTERSVILLE
A day after Huntersville Mayor Jill Swain announced her reelection bid, Brian Sisson, the town's mayor pro tem, said Wednesday he also will enter the race.
Sisson has been a town commissioner since 2001. Fellow board members elected him as mayor pro tem in 2005 and 2007.
He said his most notable accomplishment was securing funding to widen N.C. 73 beginning later this year. “Huntersville residents are tired of hearing empty promises to fix our roads,” Sisson said. “We need a mayor who will work in the best interests of Huntersville, with state and other local leaders, to bring transportation improvements to the Huntersville area.” Joe Marusak
