A large tree has fallen across a Charlotte road for the second straight day.
This time, the downed tree will close a key intersection during the evening commute.
The tree landed on Radcliffe Avenue, near the Queens Road-Selwyn Road intersection. It fell early Wednesday afternoon, knocking out power in parts of Myers Park, including the campus of Queens University of Charlotte.
No injuries were reported, according to Charlotte fire officials.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Officer Robert Fey said the Queens Road-Selwyn Road intersection will be closed until this evening. Motorists should use Providence Road, Queens Road West, and Kings Drive.
At 3 p.m., Duke Energy reported between 250 and 1,000 customers without power in the affected area.
On Tuesday, a large tree fell on East Boulevard, landing in part on an SUV and causing minor injuries to the vehicle's two occupants.
